Yearly Fire Calls Decrease
The Napoleon Rural Fire Department recently held their annual meeting Monday, February 9.
An incident report was shared and in 2025 the department had a decrease of a few calls compared to the previous two years. The 2025 wrapped up with a total of 22 calls, which is a decrease of two from 2024 and a decrease of four compared to calls in 2023.
Last year the three leading types consisting of off-road vehicle or heavy equipment fire, grass fire and medical assist (assist EMS crew). A chart with a breakout of all the calls is included to the right.
According to a report from Board Chairman Steve Fettig, discussion was held on getting bids for a new F550 pickup with a dual purpose firefighting unit for grass fires and quick response to structure fires with a larger tank to carry more water.
