Imperials Unable to Qualify
An individual qualifying golf meet was held at the Dakota Winds Golf Course near Hankinson last Mon., Aug. 26. Lady golfers carding an 87 or better during this meet were able to punch their ticket to the State Class B Tournament next month in Fargo. The lady golfers still have two more chances to qualify for the state tourney, as Napoleon Country Club will be hosting an individual qualifier on Sept. 10 and an individual and team qualifier on Sept. 17.
On the day the only golfer to state qualify was freshman Hudsyn Hubrigh of HLW who carded an 87 and was the tournament medalist.
Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter head golf coach Terry Schwartzenberger had 6 girls entered in the tournament. “This was a very challenging course, but it gave the girl’s some good experience,” said Coach Schwartzenberger. “I knew it would be a long-shot to be able to have anyone qualify, but I am proud of all the girls who all improved on the back nine.”
Two NGS golfers made the top ten, as senior Jada Schwartzenberger finished the day in third place with a 91 (46-45) and sophomore Aliyah Schwartzenberger ended up in fifth place with a 95 (48-47) out of a field of. . .
