Imperials Sweep Lady Bison

The Napoleon/Gackle-Steeter Imperial girls’ volleyball team wrapped up their regular season with a 3-set win over the Barnes County North Bison.

In action at the Gackle Gym last Thurs., Oct. 23 the Imperials won by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-9.

NGS head coach Kali Fettig was sporting a new lineup for the second time in the week as five of her regular players will be gone at the National FFA Convention when NGS plays the District play in game as well as the possible first round of District 2 tournament play.

In the first set the Imperials seemed to have their hands full, as they trailed 6-12. The NGS offense then got on track to tie the contest at 15 before taking a 17-16. The Imperials never looked back in this set as the first set closed with freshman setter, Brooklyn Schneider dropping over a dump for the 25-20 NGS win. The second set had the Lady Bison out in front early as they held a 10-12 lead. The Imperials managed to tie the contest at 14 before pulling out in front 19-17. The Lady Bison continued to charge their way back to tie the contest at 22 before the Imperial offense went to work and sophomore middle hitter Isabella Kristiansen closed out the second set with an ace serve, as NGS won 25-22.

The Imperials continued with their aggressive play at the start of the third set as Kristiansen offered. . .
