Imperials Roll Past South Border
The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter girls’ basketball team offered a hot shooting outing in Wishek last Thurs., Jan. 15 as the Imperials rolled to a 78-26 District 2 win.
The Imperials shot nearly 50% from the field, shooting 26-58 (45%) and from beyond the arch they were 7-15 (47%). The Mustangs were 5-16 (16%) from the field and 4-14 (29%) from beyond the arch.
The Imperials jumped out to an early 11-2 lead about midway through the first quarter and never looked back, as the first quarter closed with NGS leading 23-5. NGS freshman Hope Gross netted 6 (1-3) of her game high 19 points in this frame. Others scoring in this stanza for head coach Paul Erbele were: junior Aliyah Schwartzenberger, who had 6 of her career high 15, while freshmen Dawson Erbele had 4 of her 10 points and Brooklyn Schneider had 4 of her 11 points in this frame.
