Imperials Pull Upset; Advance To Region Play

The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter girls volleyball team was hoping to extend their season, but they needed to win the District 6 Region qualifier game. The sixth seeded Imperials had to travel to Steele to face the fifth seeded Kidder County Wolves last Tues., Nov. 3. When the final whistle blew it was the Imperials coming out on top, three sets to one. The Imperials won the first two sets by identical scores of 25-20 before the Wolves faced a must win situation. In the third set the Wolves came out on top 13-25. In the fourth set the Imperials got back on track as they won 25-18 and the right to advance to the Region 3 Tournament, the Kidder County season came to a close.

Imperial head coach Pauline Haak saw the junior duo outside hitters of Kylie Breidenbach and Ashley Schmitt lead NGS with 18 and 17 kills respectively. Breidenbach also led her team with 25 digs and two ace serves while Schmitt had 20 digs.
