After picking up a consolation win on Friday night, the Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperials put together a strong fourth quarter in the consolation championship game against South Border as the Imperials avenged a regular season loss to the Mustangs.

Imperial head coach Andrew Pike and his squad found themselves down by 15 with eight minutes to play. In the final stanza the Imperials tallied 24 points and held the Mustangs to just 7 as NGS went on to capture fifth place in the Stutsman County Tournament with a 2-point, 55-53 win.

At all three previous quarter breaks the Imperials found themselves trailing. At the first stop they were down 13-14 and at the half they trailed 27-23. After the break the Imperials had trouble scoring and taking care of the ball as they turned it over a dozen times in the first half and only managed four third quarter points, while giving up 19 as they trailed 31-46 headed to the final frame.

In the final quarter sophomore Trevor Moos dropped a corner triple at the 2:25 mark to get NGS to within one, 48-49

Junior post player Trenton Erbele had a strong outing as he poured in 28 points, including a pair of triples and he pulled down 10 boards. His inside shot with 34 ticks remaining on the clock gave NGS their first lead of the fourth quarter. Also in double figures for NGS was. . .
