Imperials Finish In Middle Of The Pack

The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter boys’ wrestling team was back in action as they were off for the Christmas holiday break. The Imperials were part of the 2-day, 30-team Central Cass Lettermen’s tournament.

Action took place in Casselton on Jan. 9 & 10 with teams from North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota participating. NGS head coach Kriss McCleary had 11 Imperials entered in the tournament and three of those wrestlers came away placing in the top 6. Junior Bryce Schneider finished in 5th place at 152 lbs., while eighth grader Beau Grunefelder and his ninth-grade brother, Brooks Grunefelder both finished in 6th place at 113 lbs. and 160 lbs. respectively.

As a team the Imperials tied for 14th place with 72 team points. Lisbon won the tourney with 201 team points.
