Girls Wrestling Season Begins

The Imperial girls’ wrestling team began their season last Monday, November 10, with new coaches leading the team. Head Coach Kyle Friez, along with assistant Megan Marquart, reported five starting out the season. Numbers have decreased by one third, compared to last year, when the team debuted 15. The team lost one senior to graduation in May; state champion, Alexis Schneider.
This is Friez’s first year as a girls’ wrestling head coach, but he isn’t new to coaching, as he also is the Imperial JH football coach and has coached peewee wrestling in Gackle for about four years.
