Bison Charge Past Boys In Gackle
The Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter boys’ basketball played their third game in four days last Mon., Dec. 15 in Gackle. The Imperials entered the contest at 0-2 against Barnes County North. When the final horn sounded it was the visiting Bison who came away with the 58-27 win.
The Bison scored first and never looked back as they held a 2-4 lead about midway through the first quarter. The Imperials went on a small min-run to tie the contest at 7-7 with just over 5 minutes to play. NGS head coach Logan Klitzke and his squad offered a full court press which led to Bison turnovers and NGS points. The Bison closed out the first quarter holding a 9-14 lead.
The second frame was a 19-point scoring spree for BCN. The Imperials committed numerous turnovers and only managed 7 quarter points as they trailed 16-33 at intermission.
The third quarter was even more challenging for the Imperials as they were having difficulties finding the bottom of the net and only scored 4 points while giving up 17, and trailing 20-50 with 8 minutes to play.
