Commissioners Approve Assessment Books

Commissioners approved 2026 assessment books, as presented by Logan County Tax Director Trish Laine, during the county equalization meeting, which was held in conjunction with the regular meeting of the Logan County Commissioners last Wednesday, June 3. Along with Chairman John Wald, commissioners Blanche Schumacher and Bryan Batsch, in attendance was Laine and one county land owner, who had concerns, questions and proposals. 

Laine presented the following Logan County city applications for 2026: city of Napoleon: 20 Homestead Credit applications, 10 Certificate of Real Estate Exemption applications, 5 Disabled Veterans Credit applications; city of Gackle: 12 Homestead Credit applications, 6 Certificate of Real Estate Exemption applications and 5 Disabled Veterans Credit applications; city of Fredonia: 4 Homestead Credit applications, 3 Certificate of Real Estate Exemption applications; city of Lehr: 1 Homestead Credit application. 

Applications presented for: organized townships in the county: 1 Homestead Credit application, 1 Certificate of Real Estate Exemption application and 1 Disabled Veteran credit application; unorganized townships:  5 Homestead Credit applications, 1 Certificate of Real Estate Exemption application and 1 Disabled Veteran credit application.
