Canvassing Board Approves Election Results

The Logan County Canvassing Board met on Mon., Nov. 9 to review and certify election results from the November 3 General Election.
The final total of votes cast was increased by 10 from the election night results as the canvassing board reviewed a few ballots and also included those ballots which were postmarked prior to Election Day in the final count. There were 1,090 ballots cast (74%) of the 1,465 eligible voters from across the county. Statewide there were 364,251 (62.65%) of voters who cast a ballot.
Prior to the canvassing board meeting in Logan County, there were only four votes which separated Logan County Commission candidates John W. Wald, Napoleon and Loren L. Muller, Gackle. Incumbent Wald had 454 to Mueller’s 450 votes on election night.
Logan County voters were electing two commissioners from across the county to the two 4-year terms. Newcomer Charlie Johs, Napoleon led the pack with 570 votes while Ruben Auch, rural Wishek garnered 432 votes. Following the addition of the 10 additional ballots the results were as follows: Charlies Johs 573, incumbent John W. Wald increased the margin to 9, receiving 461, Loren L. Muller 452 and Ruben Auch 434. As of Friday, Nov. 13 Logan County Auditor Brenda Fischer is not expecting a requested recount due to the 9 vote spread.
The District 28 Legislative offices will continue to be held by Republicans as incumbent. . .
