1975 State FB & Wrestling Teams To Be Honored
Plans are well underway for the upcoming 55th annual Napoleon, Kintyre and Burnstad all-school class reunion which is always the first Saturday in August. This year the event falls on Saturday, August 2, and festivities will once again be held at the Napoleon American Legion Hall.
Chosen as the honored Alumni of the Year for 2025 are the two teams claiming state championships, (50-years ago) in calendar year 1975; the NHS football team and the NHS wrestling team.
Team members of the 1975 championship football team include: The late Coach Rod Burgad and Coach Dennis Rademacher, Darrold Christmann, Greg Sperle, Wayne Scherr, Bob Horner, Dale Haas, Henry Brunner, Pete Horner, the late Jeff Dewald, John Horner, Bob Piatz, Jack Becker, the late Mark Kambeitz, Jeff Doll, David Schnabel, Rodney Gross, Lyle Eiseman, Jerry Gross, Rod Reuer, Roger Schauer, Pat Marquart and Kyle Engelhardt. Football cheerleaders: Tina (Sperle) Weigel, Colette (Leier) Clarke, Shar (Becker), Arvig, Connie (Piatz) Harty and Jacinta - Teenie- (Gross) Piatz.
