Council Pays For Early Work Done On New Water Tower

Funds were approved for payment of work to be completed on the new water tower project in Napoleon during the first regular City Council meeting of the year, last Monday evening, January 3, 2022.
McGuire Iron submitted a bill of $286,593 for piers, storage materials, insurance and bonding, for the future water tower, which will be located just south of Lake Ave E, just east of the New Wentz Living Center. The approximate cost of the new tower will be just over $3 million. All council members in attendance approved payment.
Mayor Todd Moos, along with members Bob Humann, Arron Marquart, Rod Kleppe, Jon Starkey and Debbie Sperle attended the meeting, while Clark Haas was absent.
Logan County Job Development Authority Coordinator Eric Hoberg attended the meeting to discuss a One Cent City Sales Tax loan request. He stated Lucas and Jessica Wald, who were also in attendance, recently purchased Weigel Hardware, taking ownership as of January 1, 2022 and changing the name to Main Street Hardware. Hoberg said the loan request is for $30,000 at 0% interest for 5 years, with payments to start at the end of January 2022.
